The giclee process has become the pre-eminent method for fine art reproduction. Here’s a quick snapshot of how we do it:
First, to get the best digital image possible we use a Better Light scanning-back large-format digital camera, and specially-developed lighting to capture all the subtleties of the original artwork. The next step is to make any necessary adjustments on this digital file to ensure the absolute best image possible before we move onto printing. Our high-resolution printers use water-based pigment inks to print onto 100% cotton rag acid-free watercolour paper, or specially-prepared gesso archival canvas. (Extensive experience and research shows this to be the highest quality fine art reproduction process available.) The final result? An image that is as close to the original as is possible.
